Service Description

For young adults aged 16–24 who have a direction, but need a plan Some young people already have a clear idea of where they want to go—but they’re unsure how to get there. LaunchPoint is a focused, 90-minute session designed to help youth who already have a career or study goal turn their idea into an efficient, realistic action plan. Whether they're preparing to apply for a course, enter a trade, land their first job, or take the next step after study, this session provides personalised, practical guidance. What’s Included: Clarify the destination: Brief review of the young person’s chosen direction to ensure alignment with strengths, values, and goals Career testing: A short online career assessment (e.g. CareerQuest or similar) to confirm alignment or identify overlooked opportunities; results are discussed during the session and included in the planning Map the route: Develop a step-by-step action plan to move forward with confidence Overcome roadblocks: Identify potential challenges (e.g. prerequisites, costs, competition) and strategize how to navigate them Boost readiness: Support with practical tools like CV improvements, interview tips, or application timelines—tailored to the individual's path Takeaway plan: A written summary of next steps and key milestones to keep them on track Optional Parent Involvement: Parents are welcome to attend the session (with the young person’s consent) to align expectations and obtain guidance on how to best support from home. Ideal for: Teens who know what they want to do but feel overwhelmed about how to start School leavers preparing for next steps Uni/polytech students or graduates planning their transition to work Parents who want reassurance their child has a realistic, supported plan
